Meet the Trekker! Basically the Trail Axe’s big brother, the Trekker has a sleek design perfect for backpackers and campers. Whether you’re clearing hiking trails or shooting lanes, splitting kindling, or quartering large game, this guy’s ready for the job.
The Trekker has a handle length of approximately 18-inches, making it big enough for use with two hands, but still small enough for one. Its head length is approximately 6 1/2-inch in length, with a cutting edge of about 3 3/4-inches. The head is forged from 4142 Chromoly steel, heat treated to hold an edge and be extremely tough. The poll is also hardened and can be used as a hammer.
Handles are made from American Hickory, and available in three cool color options: Natural Hickory, “Chestnut” Hickory, or Chocolate Brown Hickory, all being oil finished.
Each Trekker Axe comes with a handmade leather sheath, made especially for the axe that it comes with. The standard sheath for this model (pictured above) is the Carpenter’s Axe pull-cord style sheath. You can also choose any of the Belt or Pack Axe sheaths…just let us know in the order form (you can see them on our custom options page).
For a cool way to keep up with what year model your Trekker Axe is, each head is stamped with the year that the axe was finished.
