We are so excited to introduce to you our new line of canvas packs – the Sipsey Series!
The Sipsey Series is named for the Sipsey Wilderness Area in North Alabama. Adventure, wildlife, and the backwoods abound in this area, and that’s just what these packs are ready for. Each of the Sipseys are made out of USA-made #10 canvas duck that has been grown, woven and waxed in the USA. The finished weight after being waxed is ~19.84 oz/sq.yd. The leather straps are also made using USA-tanned Herman Oak leather, with Solid Brass buckles and hardware.
The Sipsey Long Hauler
The Long Hauler is Ike’s idea of the ideal pack for spending time in the outdoors. It is capable of carrying large or small loads, and has ample room for hauling all the essentials needed spend many days afield. It’s large enough for carrying the essentials, whether you’re planning for a longer camping trip, a trapping line, or even a weekend trip out of town. The overall working measurements are approximately 21-inches tall, 17-inches wide, and 7-inches deep.
The Long Hauler features side gussets, which allow for shrinking or expanding the sides of your pack, depending on how much you’re planning to carry. It also has two front pockets, which are designed to be able to carry a 40 oz. water bottle in either, or any other essential items. These pockets are about 10-inches tall, 4-inches wide and 3-inches deep.
The adjustable leather straps are fully secured on the back with brass rivets, including a carrying handle, backpack straps, and a removable chest strap.
Going to the inside of the Long Hauler, there is a drawstring in the top, to allow for tightening everything up, to protect from rain getting in your pack. There is also a 11-x11-inch pocket in the inside, plus a 7-x11-inch map pocket in the top flap.
And of course, we’ve also included an axe sleeve on the front. This sleeve will fit an axe all the way up to the Camp Axe size, so it’ll be ready to transport, and protected under the top flap.
We’re offering an custom option of optional bed roll straps (blanket not included), for anyone who would like these straps added to your order. These 26-inch straps are removable, so you can take them on and off as needed. (adds $30.00)

The Sipsey Adventure Pack
The Sipsey Adventure Pack is perfect for day trips, ultra-lite camping, and when not in use in the field, makes an excellent pack for carrying your goods to the office or work. The overall working measurements are approximately 15-inches tall, 13-inches wide, and 7-inches deep.
The Adventure Pack has two side pockets (7-x9-inch) large enough to carry a 40 oz. water bottle or any other of your essentials. It also as a 7-x11-inch map pocket on the inside of the flap. The adjustable leather handle and carry straps are fully secured with brass buckles and rivets.
Of course, the front features an axe sleeve, to fit any of our axe models, but especially the Trail Axe on down in size. Moving to the inside, there is a drawstring at the top, to everything secure and protect from rain flying in. There is also a 7-x11-inch map pocket on the inside of the flap, and plenty of room for storing your supplies.
