The Carpenter’s Axe model is a rough and ready tool designed for work. Whether your adventures find you bushcrafting, hiking, camping, or trail clearing, the Carpenter is a great buddy to bring along! It’s even the spoon carver’s friend.
This handsome axe has an overall handle length of approximately 20-inches. Heads are around 6-inches in length, with an approximately 3 1/2-inch cutting edge. Each head is handforged from 4142 Chromoly steel, heat treated to hold an edge and be extremely tough. The poll is also hardened and can be used as a hammer.
Each handle is made from American Hickory. Choose from Chocolate Brown-dyed, Chestnut-dyed, or Natural Hickory, all being oil finished.
About the sheaths: Each axe comes with a handmade leather sheath, made especially for the axe that it comes with. With our Carpenter’s Axe we’ve introduced a new sheath design, using a pushbutton/cord closure. Once in it’s sheath, the axe can be stored in your pack, truck, or slipped on your belt for easy carriage.
The head weight is approximately 1lb. 4 oz. to 1lb. 5oz. For a cool way to keep up with what year model your Carpenter’s Axe is, each head is stamped with the year that the axe was finished (the axe in the above photo also has a custom set of initials added).
