An axe without a sheath is very limited. If you can’t carry it, you probably won’t use it much. Having a good, stout bit cover is extremely important for the safety of your axe and you!
When you buy an axe from Wolf Valley Forge, we make sure you have a safe and easy way to carry it, whether it’s a belt or pack axe. Ike uses heavy-duty Hermann Oak leather, with a glued-in welt strip, and stitches those sheaths in-shop.
Each axe comes with a standard sheath design, but we also offer several custom sheath options (such as dee-ring upgrades, extra copper rivets, shoulder rigs, etc.), if you’d rather take your sheath to a whole new level.
Our Belt Axes are light and short enough to be carried on a belt without getting unhandy, or in the way. These come standard with one of our Standard Belt Sheaths, with other options that can be added. These have a leather belt loop, a snap-closure, and a stitched edge, with one brass or copper rivet for good measure.
Our Pack Axes are heavy and long enough to warrant a holster-type sheath for strapping to your pack, stowing in the truck, or fastening to your saddle. The Standard Pack Sheaths have a snap-closure and are made tight with copper or brass rivets, while the Carpenter’s-Style Sheaths have a stitched edge, and a pull-chord closure.
Our sheaths are designed to be tough and long lasting, to serve you well on your next outdoor adventures!
