The Hammer Poll Axe is unique, in that it boasts an extended, hardened poll, so it sits on ready for pounding tent stakes and little jobs needed along the trail. The head is made out of 4142 Chromoly steel, and it measure approximately 6 1/4-inches in head length (including the poll), with a bit length of 4-inches.
The head weight is about 1lb. 8oz., with an overall axe weight (including its sheath) at right around 2.5lbs, with an 18-inch handle.
Another feature unique to the Hammer Poll Axe, is the straight, octagonal handle! It’s straight to allow for using the hammer poll, without the handle getting in the way, and the squaredness of the handle, allows for a good, easy grip. And as usual, you can choose from Natural, Chestnut or Chocolate Brown handle colors.
The Hammer Poll Axe comes with a Carpenter’s-Style Leather Sheath, with your choice of Dark Brown or Rust Leather.
For a cool way to keep up with what year model your Hammer Poll Axe is, each head is stamped with the year that the axe was finished.
