The Sheath Options

Hope you had a great weekend. Today we’re here to give you a little run-down on the different sheath options that we have. So let’s get started!
Belt Axe Sheaths
First let’s look at the Belt Axe Sheath options. The Belt Axes include the Timber Pup, The Chipper, and the Trail Axe models. Each of these come with a Standard Belt Axe Sheath (unless another sheath upgrade is chosen).
Another option is the Hand Axe Sheath (as pictured below), which comes without a belt loop. This is an option for someone who would prefer to put their axe in their pack, as opposed to on their belt.
Pack Axe Sheaths
The Pack Axe category includes the Bush Axe and the Canoe Axe. These two models are long enough that they’re not convenient to be carried on a belt, so these pack axes come with a Standard Pack Axe Sheath (unless another sheath upgrade is chosen). They’re ready to strap onto your pack, or pick up and head to the woods.
The Standard Pack Axe Sheath is held together with copper rivets. Another option for the Pack Axe Sheaths, is the Extra Dee-Ring Sheath (pictured below). This sheath has two dee-rings on the back of the sheath to give easy loops for fastening your axe to your pack or saddle. The Extra Dee-Ring Sheath adds $25.00 to your axe order.
The Shoulder Rig
Another sheath option for all the Belt and Pack Axe models mentioned above is the Shoulder Rig. The shoulder rig features a leather sheath for the axe head, and a leather strap that clips onto the sheath. The Shoulder Rig adds $95.00 to your axe order.
The Carpenter’s Axe Sheath
With our Carpenter’s Axe model, Ike introduced a new sheath design. The bit of the axe slips into the leather sheath and it fastens with a push button/cord closure. Each of the Carpenter’s Axes come with this sheath design.
If you’re ordering another one of our Pack or Belt Axe models, you can also request a Carpenter’s Axe Sheath for them! One of our customers ordered one with his Trail Axe, and we thought it a super neat combination.
The Kephart Sheath
And our last sheath design is the Kephart Sheath. This sheath specially goes with Ike’s Kephart Reproduction axe. This little leather sheath features leather stitching, and a traditional thong closure.
Color Options
We currently offer two color options for the sheaths – the standard Dark Brown or the Rust-color. Please be sure to choose and specify your favorite when placing your axe order.
