This is a multi-purpose, multi-use axe! The Bush Axe is big enough to handle most any tasks thrown its way, yet small enough to be easily carried in a pack or in the truck. Great for light felling, wood splitting, trail clearing, or use along the trap line.
This axe is made to be used with two hands, but can easily be used with one. The Bush Axe is approximately 21 inches overall. Heads are around 6 1/2-inches in length, with an approximately 3 3/4-inch cutting edge. The head is handforged from 4142 Chromoly steel, heat treated to hold an edge and be extremely tough. The poll is also hardened and can be used as a hammer. The head weight is about 1lb. 8oz.
Handles are made from American Hickory. Choose from three color options: Natural, Chestnut, or Chocolate Brown Hickory, all being oil finished. Each axe comes with a handmade leather sheath, made especially for the axe that it comes with. Please make sure to note when ordering if you would like a standard leather pack axe sheath, or one of our other custom options.
For a cool way to keep up with what year model your Bush Axe is, each head is stamped with the year that the axe was finished.
