The Canoe Axe is our second largest axe model. This big boy of an axe gives its user the feeling of power! This axe is big enough to handle most any felling or splitting task that you will ever ask of it, but still light enough to be brought with you to where the work is. When you have a large tree to fell, trails to clear, or wood to be split, this big boy is the one for the job.
The Canoe Axe is approximately 26 inches overall. Head length is approximately 7-inches, with about 4 1/2-inches of cutting edge. The head is handforged from 4142 Chromoly steel, heat treated to hold an edge and be extremely tough. The poll is also hardened and can be used as a hammer.
The head weight on the Canoe is approximately 2 lbs.
Handles are made from American Hickory and come in Natural Hickory, Chestnut-dyed or Chocolate Brown handle colors, all three being oil finished.
Each axe comes with one of our handmade Standard Pack Sheaths, made especially for the axe that it comes with. We also offer some additional sheath options, that you can check out on our Custom Options page.
For a cool way to keep up with what year model your Canoe Axe is, each head is stamped with the year that the axe was finished.
