The Handle Colors
Hey there everybody! Thank you for stopping by the blog today.
For any of you curious about our different handle options, I thought I’d pop in with a closer look at specifically the different colors that we offer.
For our axe handles we use Tennessee Hickory wood, and offer three color options.
First we have the Natural Hickory. This one is simply left natural (without a stain), and given an oil finish. The oil finish doubles for a good protective coating, while bringing out that pretty wood grain. And one cool thing about natural Hickory wood is that each piece is unique and adds it’s own character to an axe. Some handles will boast a classy, light color, while another may have a cool swirl of heartwood in it.
Second we have the Chestnut Hickory option. Chestnut doesn’t refer to the kind of wood, but rather that good-looking stain on the American Hickory wood. It gives it a red-orange-chestnut color, and really brings out those beautiful Hickory grains.
And third we have the Chocolate Brown Hickory option, that rich, chocolatey color. This one also really compliments those natural grain lines, and gives it that handsome color that looks like it’s right at home in the backwoods.
Thank you for stopping in today! And, we would love to hear from YOU! What would you like to see on the blog in upcoming posts? Any option or model you’d like featured? Any specific how-tos you’d be interested in? Thank you so much for your comments and suggestions.
We hope you’re staying well and have a good day out there!
