Kephart Hatchet Close-Ups + Video
Hello everyone,
Hope you’re having a great start to your week! Things have been a bit busy here, trying to get everyone’s Christmas axes finished up and shipped out in time for Christmas.
Today I’m here to give you a little closer look at the Wolf Valley Forge Kephart Reproduction Hatchet model. The Kephart is based off of the beloved little hatchet that the great outdoor writer Horace Kephart wrote about in his book, Camping and Woodcraft.
Ike’s reproduction of the Kephart “little trick” features a Hickory handle (approximately 12-inches) and a leather sheath with a pull-cord closure.
The specs on the Kephart are around:
Head Length: 4-inches
Cutting Edge: 2 ½-inches
Head Weight: 8-ounces
While Ike’s Kephart standard is a Natural Hickory, it can also feature a Chocolate Brown or Chestnut Hickory handle. We think Mr. Drew’s custom Kephart turned out super cool, with a Chocolate Brown Hickory handle, and the cross-hatching custom option.
The Kephart is a super handy, (might I say cute?) and traditional addition to any backwoodsman’s tools. For more pictures and pricing, you can check out the Kephart’s model page.
In fact, Ike recently released a brand new video giving you a look at the Kephart in use! We hope you’ll enjoy watching.
Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today! Feel free to email us, or leave a comment on this post, if you have any questions. Hope you have a wonderful rest of your Monday!
